Our task was to provide a fully renovated bathroom space for our client that addresses the key concern about aging in place and providing functional storage. By converting the tub to a walk-in shower it creates an open access point. We are also thinking forward for future accessibility needs such as easy grasping pull hardware, an accessible height and ergonomic toilet, space for a future shower bench, an accessible shower niche, maximized storage options, and space for future grab bars if required.

As the site is located with sightlines to Woodbine Beach and the Toronto Beaches community, we are aiming to create an aesthetic resembling the shore: the warmth of the sun, the movement of water and the texture of the sand. Ensuring the palette is fresh and offers comfort through calming finishes is crucial. To add a luxuriousness, we are inspired by the colours and sheen of sea pearls adding in pale lavender and purple hues to the scheme.
